About
Choosing a nursing home rarely happens on a calm afternoon. It usually happens after a fall, a hospital stay, or a diagnosis, when a discharge planner asks where your parent is going and the answer is due in days. Medicare publishes excellent data on every certified home in the country, but Care Compare is built to look up one home at a time. Under pressure, that is the wrong shape. You need to see the homes near you next to each other.
Care Facility Report exists to close that gap. It reads Medicare's own Care Compare data, gathers the homes nearest to your ZIP, and lays them side by side on the ratings and staffing numbers that matter, with the strong ones surfaced and anything worth a second look flagged. The point is to hand a stressed family a clear shortlist and the right questions, instead of a stack of separate lookups.
We are an independent tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by CMS or Medicare, and no home pays us to appear or to rank higher. We take no referral fees from facilities. The report organizes public data and explains it. That independence is the whole point: you are getting the government's inspection record arranged for a real decision, not a placement service steering you toward whoever pays.
We will tell you what Medicare's data says, in plain English, and where that data is strong and where it is weak. We will not invent ratings, usage numbers, or testimonials, and we will not pretend a star rating is a guarantee. A rating is a snapshot from an inspection that may be months old. It is a starting point for your visit, not a substitute for it. The most important thing this report can do is get you to the right two or three homes and remind you to go see them in person before you decide.
